Carl Patrick's, Montilla Blvd
The only reason Carl Patrick's
stuck on my mind was because they were the only
place that served pizza in Butuan City. I don't
know if this is still the case. The pizza however
was unique to say the least (crust with sumthin'
like cheez whiz???). I also attended a function at their
second floor party room last December 96. It
seems to be a pretty clean place
Tita's Cafe , Burgos St and Zamora
Located half a block from
Urios High School, Tita's was a favorite hangout
during my high school days. They now have two outlets:
the original place and the new Tita's Cafe right
next to the new Urios High School building (where
ACEA used to be).
If you go to Tita's, the siopao and mami are what
the regulars usually order.
Narra, Concepcion St
Narra Restaurant has been operating
in Butuan as long as I can remember. And, all this
time, it has always been one of the better
restaurants in Butuan City. It is in downtown
Butuan, right in front of the Urios Elementary
school and St Joseph's Cathedral. Narra
mainly serves chinese dishes.
Weegols Grillhaus, Montilla Blvd
I tried Weegols (by the City Hall) last
December 1996. Weegols' specialty is in
the barbecued meats. I had their bbq chicken
and, though not the best I've had, it was still
yum yum yum...They have a few outlets all over
the city...
Jollibee, Corner Zamora and Montilla Blvd
Yes, Jollibee has finally arrived in Butuan.
Butuanons seemed to like Jollibee's fare as the place was
still packed when I stopped by last Dec 96.
I ordered a regular burger, palabok, and fries. All were
too salty and too oily for me...of course, your mileage
may vary...i have some more scathing comments about
their palabok in another article in this website.
